Zen teacher Charlotte Joko Beck died at 0730 this morning.  She was born in 1917 and received transmission from Maezumi Roshi.  Joko wrote two powerful books, Everyday Zen and Nothing Special, which were turning points in my early years of studying and practicing Zen.
